Publication Ethics
Studia: Journal of Humanities and Education Studies is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical responsibility in academic publishing. The journal adheres to the guidelines and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and requires all parties involved—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to uphold these principles throughout the publication process.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, accurate, and properly acknowledge all sources. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data falsification, and duplicate submissions are strictly prohibited. Authors should present their research honestly, provide sufficient details to allow verification, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant intellectual or practical contributions to the work. Manuscripts must not be under review or published elsewhere.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are expected to act impartially, evaluating manuscripts solely on their scholarly merit, originality, and relevance to the fields of humanities and education. Editors must preserve the confidentiality of all submissions and share them only with individuals directly involved in the review and publication process. They are responsible for ensuring that editorial decisions are free from bias and for upholding the journal’s ethical standards, including the protection of participant rights and responsible reporting of findings.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are entrusted to provide fair, objective, and constructive feedback that assists authors in improving their work. Manuscripts under review must be treated with strict confidentiality. Reviewers should identify potential issues such as plagiarism, duplication, or conflicts of interest and report these to the editors. If a reviewer feels unable to provide an impartial review, they must decline the invitation to review.
4. Responsibilities of the Publisher
The publisher collaborates with the editorial team to ensure that ethical standards are consistently upheld. This includes supporting the resolution of disputes, addressing cases of academic misconduct, and implementing corrective actions such as publishing corrections, retractions, or statements of concern in accordance with COPE guidelines.
